Matthew 28:18-20
Real Habits
We have been saved by Jesus Christ, and now to live is Christ. In worship, scripture, prayer, and life.
Real Faith
We walk by faith, not by sight. Standing on the promises of His Word in the Old & New Testament.
Real Change
Discipleship in Jesus Christ every day, transforms the heart, renewing both character and purpose.
We're Made For This
Being in Jesus Christ renews both our minds and lives (Romans 12:1-2), as we were created to be. As we practice spiritual habits, God reshapes our thinking, strengthens our faith, and produces eternal glory. We are physical and spiritual beings, created to be in a covenant reality with Him, and be transformed through discipleship. Jesus Christ commands us to go, therefore, and make disciples of nations, baptizing them in the Father and in the Son and in the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that He has commanded us. And Lo, He will be with us, even to the end of the Age. (Matthew 28:18-20)
Habits Renew the Mind
Daily practices like prayer, scripture reading, worship, and serving others, shape our thoughts, words, and behaviors. As these habits grow, they are not only building us up in Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit, but they are building up our communities and churches in Christ Jesus.
Beyond Willpower
Willpower can help us start new habits, but it quickly runs out. Real change comes through consistently practicing godly habits, because we can have faith in His promises. Our Triune God reshapes our entire being, making Christ-likeness a living reality.
Designed to Respond
God created us as whole beings. The physical and spiritual reality are inextricably connected. When we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to our heavenly Father, we cannot point to a particular aspect which is only physical or only spiritual. It is yes, and amen to both throughout discipleship.
Lasting Transformation
As we worship our Triune God through life, work, song, scripture reading, prayer, journaling, exercise, and love daily, those habits deepen into a lifestyle. This lifestyle is our lifelong commitment to the glorify God in all we think, say, and do. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we are transformed through these daily habits and routines.
